2018 Student Work
We want EVERYONE to know, you have ALL done AMAZING!!!
We have also asked our core IMC faculty and special guests to choose their top favorites from the 2018 IMC Student Finishes so when you hover over an image, you'll be able to see their selections! The IMC faculty and special guests have chosen both students they feel brought their work to an excellent finish, AND those who they feel are on their way to excellence as they want to shine a light on the leaps they've made in their personal growth.
While the time for faculty selecting top picks is over, we also want the students who have not yet submitted their finishes (it's okay! take your time!) to know that when you're ready, please feel free to email [email protected] a jpeg of your finish before December 1st and we would be happy to share your piece here on the site!

From Greg Manchess
*One of our faculty went above and beyond wanting to include specific notes for the students about their work so we wanted to share those here!
Christine Kornacki
She reworked the sketch multiple times to get to this balanced composition, then kept pushing the color to achieve the right range of value for it to glow.
Danny Schwartz
Danny came in with a voice already strongly pictured. But watching him listen to all comments and shift elements over and over was refreshing.
Don Higgins
Don must’ve rearranged this composition a dozen times, and he listened to every comment I had. He worked very hard to get this to a stage that while there are aspects that still don’t work, he’s putting it together…with his drawing improving each time.
Ruwen Liu
Ruwen worked diligently to keep her initial idea even while making so many requested changes! At the end, I feel she captured her original impressions while building story. She’s on her way to excellence.
Sam Hogg
The work felt very personal and skilled from even the first thumbs. She finished this one, but had another going at the same time. She stayed flexible throughout the process, even through personal doubt.
