2020 ENROLLMENT/TUITION INFORMATION
BASE TUITION and MEALS
EARLY BIRD ENROLLMENT GIFT: Anyone who enrolls before December 15th will receive a bonus of 1 Survey Only Spot in any SmArt School 2020 Fall course!- details for use of the bonus gift to go out after THE IMC 2020 concludes in June.
We are offering an installment payment plan if you enroll before the 15th of January 2020. This year we are offering two equal payments starting on October 31st at NOON for the BASE Tuition with Meals (**HOUSING is not included in "base tuition and meals"-housing can be added a la carte after base tuition and meals are selected). We hope to help folks who need to divide up the cost without having to go through Paypal’s Bill Me Later option (Bill Me Later is obviously still an option for those who want to divide out the payments more-contact paypal directly to apply for this credit service).
BASE Tuition includes daily studio time with faculty, lectures and demos by faculty and guests, and optional portfolio reviews. Supplies other than easels, are not provided.
All students enrolling MUST select BASE tuition with Meals. We've found that including the meal plan in the base cost ends up being more cost efficient for THE IMC as well as being a very cost efficient option for students.
The plan includes 3 meals a day offered through the campus dining hall starting the day after Check In and ending the night of June 14th. The Dining Hall is equipped with bountiful options meal options for vegetarian, vegan, and meat eaters alike. Additionally, the meal hall is very conscientious about food allergies. Meals are not included during the Check In Day, but there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance after you arrive. You will be given your meal card at check in. One meal plan per person, meal cards cannot be shared. This does NOT include housing.
ADDING "ON CAMPUS HOUSING" IN THE DORMS: Approx. $395-$410 /for the IMC week ** pending rates from the college* *THIS IS ONLY HOUSING* Final pricing for the 2020 IMC housing will be listed by January 31st once we get 2020 rates from the college. Payment links will be made live on the IMC website for purchase. If you have a friend or spouse coming to be with you, but they are not attending THE IMC, they can purchase a dorm spot as well—simply email us after purchasing so that we can register them as a guest. Housing is by the person, not by the room so there is no discount for sharing space. Note: Overnight guests for the week are not allowed in the studios or able to attend lectures. The option for purchasing on campus housing will be available Jan. 31st – March 30th
UPDATE: we will be able to offer housing on campus for the night of the 8th throught the night of the 14th for $405.00- to add housing, complete in a separate paypal transaction on the "enroll now " page ( buttons below in classroom info)
Please note that THE IMC's timeframe is determined by the Amherst College Summer Program's Department. We endeavor every year with THE IMC Schedule to maximize the amount of time we are given access to the Amherst College facilities. As such, PLEASE read the following and be fully aware of the Check-In and Check-Out scheduling before enrolling. We are running on the same timeline for 2020 as we did in 2019

This environment is conducive to digital working methods. There is greater lighting control for working with screens (usually everyone chooses to have very dim light in this studio), better access to outlets, and has more comfortable chairs than in the other studios. This room is limited to digital media, pencil, and paper ONLY—no paints are allowed in this space. If you intend to work digitally exclusively you may be more comfortable here, but if you like the atmosphere of the traditional studio you may choose a table spot in one of the Traditional Media studios.
