LAUREN PANEPINTO
After 11 years designing and art directing book covers, Lauren Panepinto has worked in every publishing genre and collaborated with artists of all disciplines. As the Creative Director of Orbit Books and Yen Press for the past five years, she has been trying to merge the worlds of genre and commercial publishing and figure out what SFF publishing looks like in the present world of mainstream "geek" media. Recently she also became the Creative Director of a new commercial fiction imprint, called Redhook.

The IMC is so happy to have Lauren back as a guest for portfolio reviews for Groups 1A and 1B!

CYNTHIA SHEPPARD

LANCE REHS
We're proud to welcome Lance Rehs to THE IMC!
Lance Rehs is a 4
th generation art dealer, the Vice-President of Rehs Galleries and the Director of Rehs Contemporary Galleries. With a background in finance, his earliest ventures in the art world included reviewing and analyzing various auctions from around the world in order to gauge the health of the art market, in addition to educating others about the art world from behind the scenes. Today, Lance continues to help shed light on the opaque dealings of the art world while giving an honest and unbiased opinion of the auction arena through Rehs Galleries’ monthly “Comments on the Art Market.” He is also responsible for, in conjunction with his Co-director Alyssa Rehs, building a well refined and highly skilled roster of contemporary realist artists. Lance prides himself on being an asset to his students, artists and collectors – providing honest and relevant feedback, educating artists and students about maintaining gallery relationships and helping art lovers navigate the treacherous dealings of the art world. Rehs Contemporary focuses on contemporary academic realism; showing works that demonstrate superior technical skills and classical training.

Lance will be joining us for a panel discussion at the end of the week and to meet students in the gallery focus group (Group 2).

PAUL BOOTH
We're also very honored to welcome Paul Booth from the Paul Booth Gallery!

Booth is committed to presenting thoughtful exhibitions featuring artists whose works focus on a balance between content, form, research and communication. Through a well-rounded program, Booth Gallery aims to explore new avenues of cultural significance and visual communication. Our goal is to respond to the intellectual demands of our audience in pursuit of an edifying cultural exchange.

Paul will be joining us for a panel discussion at the end of the week and to meet students in the gallery focus group (Group 2).

Marc Scheff and Lauren Panepinto started EDO with a new model for collecting original small works by new and emerging artists and illustrators.
EDO has made it possible for people who love art and want to collect original pieces to start collecting for the first time. The benefits for the artists have been present in a thriving platform for experimentation for small works and the sale of the those pieces every month.

We are very happy that EDO will be available for portfolio reviews for people in group 1 and 2 working in traditional media.

There are few places in the world where you can spend a week deeply immersed in the spirit and practical knowledge of your life as an artist.
Even fewer places that when you are feeling unsure or wonder what to do next in your painting you can pull your chair over and sit next to Boris Vallejo or Greg Manchess, watch them paint, and ask all the questions you need before going back to your easel across the room and implementing the inspiration.
The IMC, now going in its 10th year, is a world where the normal boundaries fall away. It is a miraculous atmosphere of creative energy where artists and the creators that made one want to do art in the first place, share one studio.

With the constant support for the faculty and the guests, those who attend the IMC ( either beginning artists or working professional) push their own skills further than they expect that they can in a single week. Students leave the week with strong connections among each other, and with the faculty that will help them take deeper steps into the professional world.
