Bio: After 11 years designing and art directing book covers, Lauren Panepinto has worked in every publishing genre and collaborated with artists of all disciplines. As the Creative Director of Orbit Books and Yen Press for the past five years, she has been trying to merge the worlds of genre and commercial publishing and figure out what SFF publishing looks like in the present world of mainstream "geek" media. Recently she also became the Creative Director of a new commercial fiction imprint, called Redhook.
Lauren Panepinto and Marc Scheff started EDO with a new model for collecting original small works by new and emerging artists and illustrators.
EDO has made it possible for people who love art and want to collect original pieces to start collecting for the first time. The benefits for the artists have been present in a thriving platform for experimentation for small works and the sale of the those pieces every month.
This creative team has also developed and information driven platform called Drawn+Drafted for helping hopeful commercial illustrators gain their business footing and expand their knowledge.
Marc and Lauren will be doing portfolio reviews at the end of the week.
